Installing the Authorware Web Player Plugin

 Using Product Simulations
If you come to a course screen that contains only a large white box, it means you need to install the Authorware Web Player plugin for your browser. This plugin allows you to perform product simulations. Note: You may not be able to use product simulations on a Macintosh computer.
 
Instructions for Experienced Plugin Users
To install the plugin, take the following steps:

Step Action
1 Download the Authorware Web Player installation program by clicking the appropriate button at the bottom of this page.
2 Click the Return to Course button at the bottom of this page. You can continue using the course while the Authorware Web Player installation program is downloading.
3 When the installation program is finished downloading, click the Exit button on any course page and close your browser.
4 Run the Authorware Web Player installation program.
5 Restart your browser and again sign on to the course.

Instructions for First-Time Plugin Users
To install the plugin, take the following steps:

Step Action
1 Read through these steps and then click the download button at the bottom of this page.
2 When you click the button, your browser asks what you want to do with the Authorware Web Player installation program (shockwav.exe, for Windows 95, 98, 2000, or Windows NT).

Choose the option to save the file.
3 Next, your browser asks where you want to save the Authorware Web Player installation program. Select a directory on your hard drive where you'd like to save the program. Make a note of this directory because you will need to go to this directory to run the program.
4 Click the Return to Course button at the bottom of this page. You can continue using the course while the Authorware Web Player installation program is downloading — simply skip over the pages containing product simulations and come back to them later.
5 When the installation program is finished downloading, click the Exit button on any course page and close your browser.
6 Use Windows Explorer or File Manager to go to the directory where you saved the Authorware Web Player installation program.
7 Double-click the program and follow the instructions. The Authorware Web Player plug-in will be installed.
8 Restart your browser and again sign on to the course.
